SELF Magazine Review/Breast Cancer awareness month/Tips and tricks for health, beauty and more!

Hello there everyone! I know once again its been a few weeks since I’ve been able to post, but i’m here now and that’s all that matter right?? 🙂

As many of you may know, October is the National Breast Cancer Awareness Monthwith that said I just received my Oct. issue of SELF magazine. Since its the 20 year anniversary of SELF’s Pink Ribbon” movement, they featured so many cool items from companies that donate a certain amount of proceeds to different charities. I want to show a few things that I saw and will be on the hunt for in no time.

1. Lacquer Rouge in “Disco”
$25
($5 goes to Cancer and Careers)

2. Sparkling Pink Watch Guess.com $100 (Guess will donate at least $25,000 to Susan G. Komen for the cure)

 3. Be Legendary Lipstick in “Inspiration” Smashbox.com $19 ($5 donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation)

 4. Giuliana Rancic for LOFT Statement Necklace Loft.com $69.50 (25% of purchase price gets donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation)

Ok… so now we’ve talked about the TaTa’s, its time to discuss how to take care of the rest of your body. SELF magazine really put me onto some great products. A few of those products include monthly deliveries from a couple of pretty cool companies. KlutchClub.com This cool Health and Wellness company sends 8-12 healthy surprises, which could range from Yoga Dvd’s to nutrition bars, as well as everything else in between. I haven’t signed up yet, but when I do and when I get my first package, you will be the first to know! If you sign up for: 12 months: $16/month 3 months: $17/month 1 month: $18 to try it out.

Goodebox.com This company puts together a customized box of trial-sized All-Natural beauty products for both your skin and hair. $16/month

  ONE MORE THING….   “M

INDFULNESS MEDI
TATION”
So, lately.. actually for a while now, I’ve heard of people I knew practicing “Mindfulness Meditation”. From what I know, its part of Buddhist tradition.  “To be mindful is to be aware of your thoughts and actions in the present, without judging yourself.” Research shows that mindfulness meditation may improve mood, decrease stress, and boost immune function.

“Blue skies ahead… When you face adversity, rather than seeing the world as being against you, live as it its conspiring to make you better. Each obstacle has a purpose- this one to make you stronger, that one to make you more patient. Thank them for teaching you to be creative and to persist, then keep positive until you can see your way not only through the barriers but to all the possibilities beyond.”

Thanks so much for reading! I hope you enjoyed yourself, and learned some new things along the way. Until next time…..<3 Twanie
